Around 600 players from across the country will participate in the All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament (Under 13, Boys/Girls) to be held from October 22 to 27 at the Dibrugarh Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Hall. The tournament is scheduled to be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is expected to attend the closing ceremony, officials of Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA), organisers of the tournament said.
In a press briefing, the DDSA officials emphasised the importance of the tournament, which aims to promote young talent in badminton.
This event is seen as a significant opportunity for emerging players to compete at a national level, fostering the growth of badminton in the region.
