The protestors also sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to fulfil the demand which has been raised since the past several years.

Earlier, the 6 ethnic groups seeking Scheduled Tribe (ST) status had formed a united forum under the common platform of Soy Janagosthi Joutha Mancha (Joint Platform of Six Communities). The forum was formed to put pressure on the Centre in fulfilling the demand and carying out further agitation jointly.
