Assam: 3 accused picked up in connection with sensational Hatigaon murder case

In a big breakthrough, the Assam Police has arrested three persons in connection with the gruesome murder of retired Assam irrigation department official Javed Ali Ahmed in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area.
The accused trio were picked up from Barpeta district.
According to sources, dispute over a plot of land owned by Javed Ali Ahmed in Barpeta led to the incident. However, further probe is underway to ascertain the facts.
The deceased who was also the president of the Friends’ Path Masjid Committee was hit with an iron rod on July 27 after which he lost his life.
