Another suspected ‘Ansarullah Bangla’ terrorist has been arrested from Bhandara under Manikpur police station in Bongaigaon on Saturday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Syed Ahmed (25) and police have also seized bank passbooks, Aadhar cards, and books encouraging jihad from his possession.
Ahmed was arrested based on the confession made by ‘Ansarullah Bangla’ terrorist Imran Hussain who was arrested earlier on April 18, 2022, officials informed.
The police, however, failed to arrest the second ‘Ansarullah Bangla’ terrorist identified as Hamidul Islam who managed to escape from the spot. It is learned that Hamidul, a motorcycle mechanic by profession is a resident of Jogighopa in the Bongaigaon district.
According to the officials, the Bangladesh-based outfit of Ansarullah Bangla has been actively operating in West Assam to indoctrinate more youths in the Jidahi module.
