In 2021 Aminul Haque Laskar filed a petition in Gauhati High Court against Barbhuiya for allegedly producing a fake degree while submitting his nomination papers to contest the 2021 assembly

Karim Uddin Barbhuiya, an All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA from Sonai who is due to appear before the Guwahati High Court on May 15 and the Supreme Court on May 16 in connection with a case involving the forgery of educational qualifications, has once again come under attack of BJP MLA and former Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly Aminul Haque Laskar.

Aminul Haque Laskar has levelled a slew of allegations against Barbhuiya relating to his educational qualification and forgery and called him a master fraud.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Aminul Haque Laskar alleged Karim Uddin Barbhuiya, of being a master fraud. He said that Barbhuiya claimed to have passed out from Meerut’s Chaudhury Charan Singh University. However, the university denied having any student by the name of Karim Uddin Barbhuiya enrolled ever in their institution.

Aminul Haque Laskar also challenged the authenticity of the provisional certificate submitted by Barbhuiya while submitting his nomination papers to contest the assembly polls in 2021.

Interestingly, the serial number of Barbhuiya’s certificate was the same as another provisional certificate of a student who passed a bachelor’s degree in Science in 2015 from Chaudhury Charan Singh University.

Laskar also slammed Karim Uddin Barbhuiya for allegedly creating a fake website and uploading his photo alongside some of the most reputed figures of India.

The BJP MLA also alleged that the Assam Congress, which despite claims that they have no relations with AIUDF, is extending all help to Karim by roping in Congress panel lawyers of Supreme Court, Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, to fight for his case.

It may be mentioned here that Former Aminul Haque Laskar in 2021 filed a petition in Gauhati High Court against Barbhuiya for allegedly producing a fake degree while submitting his nomination papers to contest the assembly polls.

Now, all eyes are on the outcome of the legal battle between BJP’s Aminul Haque Laskar and AIUDF’s Karim Uddin Barbhuiya.
