3 Dead in 2 Separate Accidents in Assam, One Body Remain Inside Car for Over 12 Hours

The body of Rijen Basumatary remained inside the submerged car for over 12 hours until authorities retrieved the vehicle this afternoon in Kokrajhar.

As many as 3 persons were killed in two tragic road accidents in Assam.

The first accident occurred in Khowang Rangalao Bazar, Moran in Dibrugarh district where a truck went out of control and crushed three shops, killing two women on the spot.

The deceased women have been identified as- Runumi Das and Sumila Das.

Another woman identified as Anjali Das, was seriously injured in the accident and is receiving treatment at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

In a separate accident in Diajhijari, Kokrajhar, a vehicle plunged into a pond, killing the man driving the car on the spot last night.

The deceased man has been identified as Rijen Basumatary, an employee of the State Bank of India (SBI).

The body of Rijen Basumatary remained inside the submerged car for over 12 hours until authorities retrieved the vehicle this afternoon.

Police are investigating both incidents.
