Assam student found dead in IIT-Kharagpur

Deceased identified as Faizan Ahmed. Police suspect suicide.
A student from Assam has been found dead under mysterious circumstances at the prestigious IIT-Kharagpur. The semi-decomposed body of Faizan Ahmed has been recovered from his hostel room.
The student from Tinsukia in Assam had moved into the hostel recently.
Police suspect the 23-year-old student, Faizan Ahmed, died by suicide. Faizan Ahmed hails from Eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conveyed his condolences and tweeted: “Deeply pained by the unfortunate death of Faizan Ahmed, a bright young student from Tinsukia studying at the prestigious IIT Kharagpur. My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.”
