He said, “THe Honourable CM of Assam and myself and committee (Regional Committee) members are expected to meet on 24th of this month. So that will be the first meeting that may take place in Guwahati. We are waiting for full confirmation but tentatively both us have agreed, logistics are being worked out and everything falls in place we are expected to meet on the 24th of this month.”
The Meghalaya Chief Minister added that he and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma will be visiting the Block 1 and Block 2 areas after their meeting.
“We have already decided that we will visit both Block 1 and Block 2 areas jointly to send a message of confidence, message of peace and a message of restraint from the both sides, including administration. These are the steps and measures that we are taking,” Sangma said.

He stated, “But as I said that incidents are happening, we are very concerned about them. We appeal for peace and harmony in these areas. But ultimately in order to ensure that we are able to find permanent peace and solution to this border issue is the only way forward.”
