Assam HSLC Paper leak case: 10 including 6 students taken into custody

The Assam Police have accessed crucial leads pertaining to the paper leak case for the General Science subject in the ongoing Assam HSLC examination. As per inputs received so far 10 people, including 6 students have been taken into custody by the police in connection with the sensational case.
It has been learnt that, CID sleuths in coordination with Police detained 5 students of Salt brook Academy in Dibrugarh and one student from Gogamukh in a joint raid conducted in various parts of the state overnight.
The students had allegedly circulated the handwritten question papers to various people via social media platform WhatsApp.

4 persons including two teachers of a school in Guwahati and two persons including a fourth grade employee of the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA), which conducts the 10th standard High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination in Assam and a driver has been picked up for investigation, police said.
It is now been expected that the 10 detained persons will likely be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu said that probe into the matter is underway. He said,”We always take preventive measures and we had successfully held it last year also. But considering the reports of paper leakage SEBA decided to cancel the examination (for Science subject). If it not had been cancelled than the investigation process will not be possible. Police probe into the matter is underway and SEBA is also conducting it’s own internal inquiry. Police is doing its own job. Regarding CID summon to SEBA officials, they have done so to gain leads into the case. We have a water tight security as far as SEBA is concerned but will examine if there are some loopholes.”
The examination for the General Science subject was supposed to be held on March 13, but was cancelled by the authorities owing to the paper leak case. After the cancellation of the Assam HSLC exam 2023 for General Science papers, the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) had announced the new dates for the examination. The examination is scheduled to be held on March 30.
