Assam HSLC Exam: Geography question paper of 2021 made viral as paper for 2023

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a strong exception to this and assured action against those guilty.
In less than a week the Assam Police cracked the HSLC paper leak case, but now miscreants have taken to the social media, perhaps only for the sole purpose of disrupting the entire process of the examination.
This time question paper of the Geography subject allegedly went viral on social media. In no time police swung into action to verify the social media contents. However, investigating agencies as well as SEBA authorities during the probe found that the paper which was believed to have gone viral is the one from 2021.
It has been learnt that SEBA authorities could establish this fact after minute observations by examining necessary codes, ink used in question papers as well as other aspects. Those behind this act could only change the Year of the examination held from 2021 to 2023.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a strong exception to this and assured action against those guilty.
In a tweet, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said,”It appears that certain groups of people are attempting to disrupt the entire atmosphere by fabricating false leaks of the High School Leaving Certificate exam papers. @assampolice will investigate the matter to ascertain the identities of the groups and take appropriate actions.”
Earlier, education minister Ranoj Pegu also confirmed that the paper allegedly believed to be leaked in social media is fake.
He tweeted and said,”The Geography Question Paper circulated in social media allegedly of leak is fake. SEBA authority has confirmed that it is fake. Instructed concerned officer to lodge FIR in Police station.”
Further, investigation is underway into the matter for which details are still awaited. As per sources, investigating agencies are working on to trace the epicenter of the this false paper leak case.
This fresh controversy has erupted soon after the Assam Police cracked the HSLC paper leak case and arrested 27 people, which included 14 adults and 13 Children in Conflict with Law (CCL). It was only yesterday that Assam DGP GP Singh had informed about how the police could crack the HSLC paper leak case.
