Top-ranked NSCN-KYA leader, cadres arrested from Arunachal’s Tirap
A team of Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh police apprehended a top ranked suspected NSCN (K-YA) leader along with four other persons including a fresh recruit from Deban Nandan Kannan
A team of Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh police apprehended a top ranked suspected NSCN (K-YA) leader along with four other persons including a fresh recruit from Deban Nandan Kannan village under Jairampur police station in Changlang district. The suspected NSCN (K-YA) leader has been identified as a self-styled sergeant Major Rawe Galon, while the fresh recruit is Daniel Chakma.
The three others arrested for providing assistance to the militants are Nayan Kumar Chakma, Taz Kumar Chakma, and Santimuni Chakma.
This big development comes at a time when insurgent groups operating in the eastern Arunachal districts of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts are facing the heat of not only the relentless counter operations by security forces but also the non-cooperation of the villagers.
Well, villagers who had been facing the wrath of insurgency for decades now have started to refuse to provide logistical support to the militants. Besides, outfits are also reportedly facing a hard time recruiting fresh cadres. If sources are to be believed, then banned outfits are sending senior leaders from their Myanmar-based camps to pursue and get new cadres for their outfits.
