Subansiri Dam accident: Way to front of dam blocked

Incessant rains are heavily affecting the construction work of the Lower Subansiri project and have led to accidents one after the after.

Another accident has been reported from the Lower Subansiri Hypropower Project amidst the raging rains. One of the tunnels of the hydropower project has caved in.

Prior to this, the guard wall of the dam had also fallen down. Incessant rains are heavily affecting the construction work of the Lower Subansiri project and have led to accidents one after the after.

Now that the tunnel has caved in, the way to the front of the dam has been blocked.

Landslides around the project site in recent times have also concerns about the safety of the dam. This situation at the dam site is also proving to be concerning for the people of Upper Assam who fear any major mishap at the dam site that results in flash floods over a large area.
