Activist Sol Dodum has given a clarion call for a statewide protest against alleged corruption on May 5th in Arunachal Pradesh. Dodum, who is in a sit in protest at the IG Park, alleged there is corruption in every department and that the government is indifferent in addressing the issue. The activist appealed people to join the protest and press the government to act.
Meanwhile, Sol Dodum said that the agitation will continue until the demands are fulfilled by the government.
The four supportes of Sol Dodum arrived at the IG park on Monday to express solidarity to the activist’s ongoing agitation. The supporters who joined Sol Dodum’s strike are Hakya Mangam, Yarkam Yangfo, Jokap Fachang and Saka Longda and had walked from Seppa as well.
It may be mentioned that the state government has on more than one occasion urged Dodum to call off his protest assuring that work is underway to ensure supply of clean drinking water in Seppa. The state government has also given a timeline for the completion of work. Besides this, the government has also assured a probe into allegations of corruption in the PHE department. However, Dodum has refused to budge stating that the protest will continue until all demands are met on ground.
