A monsoon-like situation, with heavy showers triggering landslides, has been prevailing in Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, which is prone to natural calamities like flood.
Due to intermittent downpour in the district for the past days, the valley which shares a huge boundary with China has been cut off with the rest of the nation.
Deputy Commissioner Pagli Sora informed North East Live that landslides had occurred in at least three spots between Hunli and Anini.
Movement of vehicles has also come to a halt. Although engineers and workers were trying to restore the road communication, it had to be aborted due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the administration had already issued an advisory in relation to movement of traffic and storage of food grains.
