White water rafting is making a big splash in the scenic Bhalukpong town of Arunachal Pradesh.
The endeavour is helping in promoting self employment in the region as well as showcasing the tourism potential of the area.
Rishof Ramdasow, a local youth, professionally trained in rafting has recently started a commercial rafting enterprise named White Water Thrills at Bhalukpong.
Along with Rishof Ramdasow, three of his friends who are also well trained in rafting have joined him in his venture. The rafting starts from Pinjoli near Kimi road to Bhalukpong on a stretch of more than 10 kms.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Ramdasow said that the purpose of starting his endeavor is to promote tourism in Arunachal Pradesh and that people don’t always need to go to Tawang to enjoy what nature has to offer.
“This is for tourism. People who come from outside like Mumbai, Delhi and other big cities and whoever want to go to Tawang, they think they will only go to Tawang, but for them I have started to promote river rafting. I started my project this January. River rafting is one of the best that you can do in your life. My intention is to promote tourism more in my Arunachal Pradesh,” Ramdasow said.
Clients from Pune and Mumbai expressed their satisfaction after taking part in the river rafting exercise saying that it was a thrilling experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Arunachal Pradesh.
“We came for river rafting in the Kameng river for the very first time, it was a very thrilling experience for us.If anyone wants to visit Arunachal Pradesh, you must try river rafting, believe me you will have an experience that will be remembered forever,” a tourist said.
