Arunachal Pradesh: Woman rescues injured Asian barred owlet

In a nice gesture, a lady, Tashi Lhamu of Lubrang village of Dirang in Arunachal Pradesh rescued an injured Asian barred owlet and handed it over to the Wildlife Board member, Karma Tsering for proper medical treatment and care.

Tsering, on receiving information about the injured bird, rushed to Itanagar from Mandalaphudung, under Dirang sub-division of West Kameng district and handed over the injured Asian barred owlet to veterinary officer Dr Sorang Tadap of the Biological Park Zoo for further treatment.

Damodar A. T, deputy conservator of forests (wildlife and biodiversity), presented Karma Tsering with a letter of appreciation in recognition of his contribution to the protection and preservation of wildlife and forests.

Karma Tsering has appealed to the people to help protect and conserve the rich flora and fauna of the region whenever they get such opportunities.
