Arunachal murder: Victim’s family announces Rs 1 lakh reward for suspects’ info; 2 held

Police have now launched a manhunt for the prime suspect Om Prakash Prasad, who has been absconding ever since.

Sensation prevails in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh following the death of a 30-year-old man in Borduria area of the district who is suspected to have been murdered.

According to eyewitness accounts, the victim identified as Tejat Akhang was last seen roaming around with one Om Prakash Prasad, a permanent resident of Patyapur village in Chapra district of Bihar on the morning of April 21st, the day he went missing.

Family members of the victim subsequently filed a missing person report with the police.
Later on April 24, police recovered the body of the victim from a nearby forest. The body was found in a decomposed state.

Police have now launched a manhunt for the prime suspect Om Prakash Prasad, who has been absconding ever since.

According to a senior police official involved with the case, two persons have been arrested so far based on certain leads and technical evidence. Besides, some more people are being questioned after they were picked up from Morigaon and Tinsukia in Assam.

It has also been learned that police have formed 3 teams and an investigation is being carried out in various directions.

Meanwhile, local residents of Tirap district took to the streets on Thursday evening and staged a protest demanding justice for the victim and immediate arrest of the suspect.

Furthermore, family members of the victim have announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to anyone who can provide credible information on the whereabouts of the key suspect.
