Arunachal: Govt plans hydel projects, fresh funds for villages on Indo China border
The government is going to develop three border villages in the state’s Anjaw district
The Arunachal Pradesh government is going to give special attention to the development of infrastructure in the bordering areas. Now the government is going to develop three border villages in the state’s Anjaw district
This was stated by Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein who said that the government is always committed to the welfare of its people, especially the ones living close to the international border with China.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Chowna Mein said that the state government has allocated funds worth Rs 10 crores for each of the three villages in a bid to take up all round infrastructure development in the three villages of Kaho, Kibithu and Mesai.
Chowna Mein also informed that the government has also allocated 50 crores for the development of mini and micro hydel projects in 17 villages located on the international border with China to address the issue of power supply in these far flung and inaccessible villages.
The Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister also said that the move will also benefit the border guarding agencies such as the army and the ITBP. Noteworthy here is that Arunachal Pradesh shares a long boundary with China and lack of development and infrastructure in the bordering villages has led to large scale migration from these remote villages.
