Arunachal CM Khandu assures action on Sol Dodum’s demands
Regarding the protest by Sol Dodum, CM Khandu said that being in Government, they want to complete every project & implement the same on time.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu reacted to the ongoing agitation of Sol Dodum’s demand for a supply of clean drinking water in Seppa and said that the water project of East Kameng particularly of Seppa is been briefed by the Government through press briefings.
Regarding the protest by Sol Dodum, CM Khandu said that being in Government, they want to complete every project & implement the same on time.
The Arunachal CM further said that the violent incident that happened with Sol Dodum in Seppa is being properly enquired by a fact-finding committee.
CM Khandu assured that his government will take steps and decide to take further actions as per the recommendations of the high power committee.
Earlier on April 22, hundreds of protesters took to the streets to demand clean drinking water and good roads in Seppa.
Activist Sol Dodum, a resident of Seppa in Arunachal’s East Kameng district walked a distance of 225 km to Itanagar to force the authorities to take note of his demand for clean drinking water and good roads back in his hometown.
Sol Dodum has become an overnight sensation in Arunachal for his mammoth effort of highlighting what he terms a people’s cause through non-violent means.
After repeated complaints by him to the PHE department and the district deputy commissioner allegedly fell on deaf ears, Dodum decided to walk to Itanagar to make his voice heard.
He submitted an 8-point memorandum to state Home Minister Bamang Felix voicing his demands for clean drinking water, good roads, and other issues.
