In a major jolt to the Insurgent Group NSCN-KYA, the Lekhapani battalion along with Arunachal Police, recovered a huge weapon cache in Phenbiro, Changlang yesterday.
The 2 Day long operation was based on specific input and in challenging terrain which lead to recovery of AK 56 rifle with 04 live rounds, 02 Single shot rifle, one pistol with magazine and 03 live rounds, 450 gm of explosive like material and 40 gm of drugs.
Numerous intelligence inputs regarding the presence and extortion by self-styled Lt Col Makam Hacheng of the NSCN(KYA) has been received in the area. And, on corroborating the inputs on the ground the battalion launched an operation.
Meanwhile, the relentless operation by lekhapani battalion has negated the nefarious design of terrorist organization and has bolstered the trust and bonhomie between the security forces and local populace.
