Arunachal: 6 more walk from Seppa to support Sol Dodum, PHE engineer takes leave

Six More supporters of Sol Dodum has started walking from Seppa to Itanagar, while the activist has been taken to the hospital.

Six more supporters of Sol Dodum are walking all the way from Seppa to join his protest. Sol Dodum, an activist from Seppa is staging a protest demanding clean drinking water in his town besides a crackdown on alleged corrupt officials

However, Sol Dodum showed health complications due to his hunger strike today and was taken to the Vivekananda Mission Hospital. Later due to public disturbance he has been shifted to THRIMS, Naharlagun.

Talo Portom, the district commissioner of Itanagar has directed the authorities at Naharlagun to monitor the situation.

Sol Dodum’s protest began from his 225 km journey from Seppa to Itanagar which made him an overnight sensation.

In the meantime, Bharat Sonam who is the Executive Engineer in the Seppa PHE department will be replaced by the Superintending Engineer of the Rupa PHE circle. As per a notification issued by the Arunachal Pradesh government, Bharat Sonam has availed an Earned Leave for 14 days. However, in view of urgency for various committed works, Superintending Engineer of Rupa, Joi Angu will take over the full charge of the Seppa PHE & WS division.

In fact Sol Dodum took to protest demanding removal of Seppa PHE department Executive Engineer Bharat Sonam. Dodum had blamed corruption by the official that had led to non-availability of safe drinking water in Seppa.
