In a tragic news, at least three dead bodies were recovered from the sight of landslide in Sulung Taping village of Kurung Kumey district in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Sariu Tongdang (50), his wife Sariu Yajik (48) and their 8-year-old son Sariu Takar.

The victims were reportedly buried alive on April 17 (Sunday) in a landslide which was triggered by heavy rains in the area.

Meanwhile, two people escaped the incident and were saved. Due to the landslide, many houses, fish pond, agricultural fields were all damaged.

Since Sunday night, the district headquarters Koloriang has been cut off from the rest of the state. The roadways between the old DC office and the Malapu mini-secretariat are blocked in many places, informed Bengia Nicchee, District Commissioner of Kurung Kumey dist.
