The APTUF has been demanding that Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman be appointed from amongst the Trade Union leaders.
The Federation’s other demands include wages of casual or contingency staff to be increased by Rs 3000, grade pay of the WC workers in the engineering departments to be increased from existing Rs 1900 to 2400, creation of one-time post for WC workers – those who are working for the past 20 to 30 years should be appointed through DPC on merit or seniority basis, and contingency staff who are serving for 15 years; reservation against appointment of elected leader or non-trade union leader in labour board; implementation of statutory benefits for the registered workers in labour board; and immediate removal of APEDA chairman, among other things.
Earlier, on September 22, APTUF had demanded the immediate removal of Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA) Chairperson, Mopi Mihu from his post, alleging that he had terminated the services of 47 contingency workers.
