The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police on Thursday arrested one more government official in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak case.
The total number of arrests so far stands at 32.
The arrested person has been identified as 37-year-old Abu Pertin, Assistant Engineer of the Public Works Department, Dambuk Sub-Division.
Pertin is a resident of Remi village in Lower Dibang Valley district.
Meanwhile, the Yupia Session Court in Arunachal Pradesh today granted interim bail to accused Tanyang Gaduk (57) for 20 days who was arrested in connection with the scam.
He was granted interim bail on medical grounds.
The Session Court on December 7, 2022, heard a bail petition by as many as six accused who were arrested in the initial stage in connection with the paper leak case.
The court however rejected the bail pleas of the other 5 accused.
The APPSC aspirants have expressed unhappiness over the development and said it was unfortunate to grant bail to accused Tanyang Gaduk.
In fact the aspirants wondered as to why Tanyang Gaduk wants to go for treatment to Delhi. Speaking to Northeast Live, few of the aspirants said that they think Gaduk plans to go to Delhi to get legal help.
It is to be mentioned that the AE (civil) question paper leak case has been handed over to the CBI.
The SIC is investigating all the other cases based on several FIRs filed by the aggrieved aspirants.
The SIC is investigating cases since 2014 related to the paper leak case.
