Arunachal Pradesh activist Sol Dodum has called off his ongoing strike demanding clean drinking water for Seppa town after the state government provided written assurance to address his charter of demands.
Extra Assistant Commissioner of capital complex Itanagar Datum Gadi arrived at the IG park with written assurance.
The Arunachal Pradesh government as per the demand of Sol Dodum has agreed to transfer the corruption case in the execution of Water Treatment Plant in Seppa and Nyari Valley model village to the SIC for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the state government has also assured Sol Dodum that the case of assault on him during his foot march from Seppa to Itanagar will be transferred to a SIT which will be constituted by the state government.
Regarding Sol Dodum’s demand for transfer of DC Seppa, the government assured that the matter will be taken up within 2-3 months from today, while, Bharat Sonam, the Executive Engineer of PHED Seppa is already posted out from Seppa.
Upon receiving the assurance from the government, Sol Dodum also assured that he will not prolong his protest or bring in any additional demands.
However, the activist said that the protest will be renewed if the government fails to act accordingly.
It was only yesterday when Activist Sol Dodum had announced to march to the national capital today. Dodum along with a few of his supporters were set to march from Itanagar today.
Reportedly, about 10 to 15 more supporters would be joining Sol Dodum during his foot march to Delhi.
Noteworthy here is that Dodum had earlier undertaken a 225 kms long foot march from Seppa to Itanagar which had gained him recognition as an anti-corruption crusader. Despite repeated assurances from the State Government to ensure the supply of clean drinking water in Seppa, Sol Dodum has refused to budge from his stand stating that the issue is not being addressed in the way it should be.
