In a big development, Napho Boham, Gaon Burah of Lauksim village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district who was abducted by suspected NSCN-K (Y-A) militants has been finally released today.
As per the latest inputs, the abducted Gaon Burah was released near the forest areas between Banfera and Lokho village in Nagaland.
If reports are to be believed, family members of the Gaon Burah paid a ransom of Rs 3 lakh to the underground group to ensure his safe release.
The abduction took place on the intervening night of May 7 and 8 when an armed group of suspected NSCN K-YA insurgents sneaked in from Laukun village of Mon District and abducted Napho Boham.

As per inputs received from various agencies the NSCN K-YA abductors led by Self Styled Lieutenant Wangbet Wangjen along with the abductee, Napho Boham were in the forest in the vicinity of Jaboka village of Mon district of Nagaland.
Earlier on Monday, angry villagers of Kanubari area in Longding district took to the streets yesterday to express their resentment against the activities of the insurgent groups operating in the area.
The Wancho youth and villagers of Kanubari area turned up in large numbers in Lauksim village, displaying placards and banners against the insurgents.
