A’chal: Rs 50 L ‘misappropriated’ by corrupt ‘syndicate’, ACF claims

The Anti-Corruption Forum alleged that there have been gross irregularities in the implementation of the scheme.

The Anti-Corruption Forum of Arunachal’s Anjaw district has alleged that a sum of Rs 50 lakh sanctioned for the repair work of the Hayuliang Govt Guest House has been ‘misappropriated’ by the same ‘syndicate’ of corrupt officials, contractors and politicians recently.

The ACF while supporting its allegations with documents procured through the filing of RTI applications alleged that there have been gross irregularities in the implementation of the scheme.

Old CGI sheets which were to be replaced as per the job specification were never replaced but the old ones were painted upon to give it a new look, the ACF alleged.

It is also to be mentioned that, through relentless coverage of issues related to bordering areas in Arunachal Pradesh, it had been found that funds, be it from centre or the state government, had never been a hindrance to the development of the bordering and interior parts of the frontier state.

However, it is the alleged nexus of a section of corrupt officials, contractors, and politicians who pocket most of these funds meant for the benefit of the people.
