In a joint operation, a team of police and CRPF led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Nafra, Lobsang Wangchu Bapu, raided several locations in Khajalang and Janaching areas in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district.
During the raids, the police destroyed 21 temporary camps of the illegal timber syndicate.
According to ADC Lobsang Wangchu Bapu, a team police and CRPF rushed deep into the forest to raid suspected illegal lumbering areas.
Apart from destroying 21 temporary camps, the police also seized chain saws, 5 air guns, fuel cans, sawn timbers, and other belongings. All the belongings have been confiscated.
However, no arrests could be made as the timber smugglers fled into the jungle.
