Meghalaya Congress already depleted by the mass exodus of MLAs may soon have to face another jolt. Senior party leader and its MLA from Mawlai’s statement to Northeast Live points in that direction.
Well speaking to Northeast Live, PT Sawkmie said that when the right time comes he would take a call on whether or not to continue with the Congress.
“As of now I am with Congress, then when the time comes I will take the call”, he said.
Speaking to Northeast Live congress leader PT Sawkmie also expressed his views about TMC’s future in the state. He said that the TMC has no future in Meghalaya. Sawkmie believes that the Trinamool Congress’s popularity in the state would be short-lived and that it would gradually start to wane once the assembly elections are over.
The Mawlai Legislator added that the TMC would take time to penetrate into the state and that they must first prove that they are sincere for the interest of the people and that the main focus should be on development.
Furthermore, Sawkmie opined that the people of Meghalaya will not vote for the TMC especially in the state’s Khasi-Jaintia hills region.
