This time two minor girls have fallen to perverts as they were lured and taken to a isolated place.

Crimes against women are just refusing to die in Tripura with back to back cases of gang rape coming to light from the state. Days after a college going girl was gang raped by a man known to her and his associates, another sensational case of gang rape has been reported from the state’s Gomati district.

This time two minor girls have fallen to perverts as they were lured and taken to a isolated place. As per reports, the minor girls had come from a village in South Tripura district to Chechua in Ampi to attend a Baisakhi Mela, where they met Malarai Jamatia, who is a Facebook friend of one of them.

The prime accused Malarai Jamatia soon tricked the minor girls and took them away from the mela premises to a nearby plantation only to be joined by 7-8 other men who then allegedly committed the heinous crime.

Jamatia allegedly took the girls to Amarpur later and left them the next morning. After the girls’ families complained to the Birganj police, Jamatia was arrested. A search is underway for the other accused in the case.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Manik Saha has affirmed that his government would ensure that people involved in such crimes are dealt with strictly as per law. Chief Minister Saha said,”These are instances of a twisted mentality. We will ensure that those involved are punished and that the law takes its own course.”

On March 11, a sensational case of gang rape had come to light in Tripura but in some prompt action, Tripura Police arrested the prime accused and a co-accused.

According to the police, the victim and the accused knew each other.
