Assam: Man smokes cigarette while refuelling bike, soon gets engulfed in fire

A mindless act of a person led to an unfortunate incident at Sonari in Eastern Assam’s Charaideo district that has now left him battling for his life.

There was panic at the Mathurapur Tea Garden after a person was engulfed in flames while he was refuelling his 2-wheeler, but while smoking a cigarette.

Locals nearby soon rushed to rescue the victim identified as Pankaj Tripathi, who is the assistant manager in the tea garden. He has reportedly suffered at least 80% burn and has been admitted to a hospital in Charaideo.
