Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurates Khelo Tripura Para Games 2023

CM Saha announced the state government's initiative to register and provide unique identity cards to all Divyangs.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday inaugurated the Khelo Tripura Para Games 2023 at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala, marking the commencement of a two-day sporting extravaganza for the Dibyangs.
The opening ceremony featured a vibrant march past by Divyang participants and officials.
A total of 324 differently-abled individuals (Divyang) are set to participate in 11 events, including Blind Cricket, Football, Chess, Long Jump, Shot Put, 50 Mtr. race, Ring Throw, and more, scheduled for Saturday at the same venue.
Addressing the gathering, CM Saha announced the state government’s initiative to register and provide unique identity cards to all Divyangs.
This move aims to safeguard the rights of individuals with disabilities and facilitate easy access to government schemes and services.
Currently, around 36,000 registered Divyangs in Tripura who receive Unique Disability ID Cards for Divyangjans.
Saha said that the government is committed to expanding the registration process for broader coverage.
The Chief Minister also distributed Chief Minister’s Meritorious Awards for Students with Benchmark Disabilities at class ten and twelve board examination, marriage grants for couples with one Divyang partner, Unique Disability ID Cards for Divyangjans, along with aids and appliances.
The event saw the presence of Mayor of Agartala, Dipak Majumder, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, and other dignitaries. Cultural performances by Divyang children added a touch of celebration to the program.
