Former cricketer, Mrinank Singh who cheated multiple people including cab drivers, young women, bars, restaurants, etc duped Rishabh Pant in 2020-2021

Cricketer Rishabh Pant was allegedly duped of Rs 1.6 crore by a former cricketer, Mrinank Singh.

The 25-year-old, presently a conman and formerly a U-19 cricketer for Haryana duped Rishabh Pant by posing as a trader in 2020-2021.

As per reports, Mrinank Singh told Pant that he was into the business of buying and selling luxury watches and jewellery. After Pant gave his watches to Singh to sell them, the accused handed him a cheque worth Rs 1.6 crore, which subsequently bounced.

Who is Mrinank Singh?
Mrinank Singh was obsessed with living a life of luxury; he desired to eat at five-star restaurants and stay in luxurious hotels.
The young cricketer had different plans to fulfil his desire to live a luxurious life.
In order to deceive women and foreign firms that deal with sports accessories, he posed as an IPL cricketer who was part of the Mumbai Indians team. He also had a backup identity, in case he ever got caught.
The former cricket player used fraudulent techniques such as taking on fake identities and showing up at some hotels as an IPS officer from Karnataka. In addition, he promoted himself as a famous cricket player by sharing pictures on social media to increase his fame.

He had stayed at the Taj Palace for nearly a week in July 2022, piling up a bill of approximately Rs 5.6 lakh. He assured the hotel that Adidas, his sponsor, would pay the bills. Investigations, however, revealed that the card information and bank account details were fake.

Currently he is under police custody after he was arrested for his involvement in a series of fraudulent activities.
