Arunachal: 2 person abducted by NSCN (Ang Mai) faction from Longding released

The duo was allegedly abducted by the outfit for refusing to pay extortion money which the outfit had demanded 3 months back
In a sigh of relief, the two persons who were abducted on November 28 by NSCN (Ang Mai) faction from Chop village under the Wakka circle of Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh have been released today.
The village chief Chingsan Wangham (45) and village headman Chopkhu Gangsa (53) reached their village at around 2 PM today. The health condition of both are stated to be stable, Longding Superintendent of Police (SP) Dekio Gumja told Northeast Live.
Both the persons were allegedly abducted by a heavily armed 15 cadres of NSCN (Ang Mai) faction for refusing to pay extortion amount of Rs 1.65 crore which the outfit had demanded 3 months back.
As per inputs, the outfit had demanded a whopping sum of Rs 1 crore for their release, and another Rs 65 lakhs as so called fine from villagers for allegedly working for the security forces.
Earlier, this week, a man who along with another person had gone to seek the release of Chingsan Wangham and Chopkhu Gangsa was allegedly held captive by the militant outfit.
