Veteran Assamese actor Jayanta Das dies at 54

Veteran Assamese actor Jayanta Das, known for his roles in numerous films and TV series spanning several decades has passed away. He was 54.
The actor known for his hit Assamese comedy serial ‘Bharaghar’ breathed his last at a private hospital in Guwahati on Saturday evening.
He was undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments and was on life support at the hospital since last few days.
He was admitted to the hospital on December 10 after experiencing discomfort.
Das has left behind his wife and daughter.
Born in 1969 in Uzan Bazar, Guwahati, Jayanta Das, renowned for his performances in Assamese films like Nayak, Moina Sorai Moina Maat, Kadambari, Mon, and Kanyadaan, as well as the hit TV series ‘Bharaghar,’ has left a lasting impact.
His significant contributions to both films and serials have earned him a special place in the hearts of the audience.
