Row over the possible entry of illegal migrants post the publication of the final draft NRC continues in Mizoram with chief ministerial candidate of the Zoram People’s Movement, Lalduhawma slamming the state government for alleged not doing anything to prevent possible influx of migrants.

Speaking to mediapersons, Lalduhawma expressed apprehension that thousands of Bangladeshis from Assam will attempt to enter Mizoram post the publication of final draft NRC.

He said many of the 40 lakh people who have been left out in the draft list will migrate to Hailakandi and Cachar districts along the Assam-Mizoram border and later will attempt to intrude into Mizoram.

Blaming the Mizoram government for remaining mute spectator Lalduhawma said the government should step down if it is reluctant to tackle the issue.
