Assam: African tourist found unconscious inside train in Barpeta

Officials said that the tourist presently is undergoing treatment at the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital

An African tourist who is on a visit to Assam, was found unconscious inside one of the coaches of the Howrah bound Kamrup Express.

Although what had happened with the tourist is still not clear, but prompt action by alert co-passengers seems to have saved the life of the tourist.

Sharing details about the incident, a railway official said, “We received a message from the control room that a foreigner has been found in a berth in the train. His co-passengers had informed the security and immediately we went to rescue him. When we sought details from him he could not speak. He is a resident of West Africa. He has been admitted to the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital.”

From the look of it, the passenger looked very unwell. The tourist’s personal details and where he was travelling to is still not known.
