Earlier, on December 2, a meeting was convened by the Chief Secretary to review the security measures and preparedness of the state to receive the globally acclaimed spiritual leader.
It is to be mentioned that the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama visit has been cancelled two times earlier, at first it was scheduled for October 10 to 14, which was postponed due to flash floods on October 3. Again it was rescheduled to October 16 to 22, but the visit faced another setback due to the devastation caused by floods resulting from a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) at Lhonak Lake in the Chungthang area of North Sikkim.
