Indian Oil has appealed to the agitators to call off their protest as it is 'detrimental' to the interests of the public

The supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders to the Northeastern region of India continue to be affected due to the indefinite flash strike of the North East Packed LPG Transporter Association (NEPLTA).

NEPLTA’s strike has entered day 4 today. It has been holding the strike citing low rates in the recently floated tenders and pending dues.

Canisters filled with LPG cylinders can be seen stranded inside and outside the LPG Cylinder Project site in North Guwahati.

Because of the strike, supplies of LPG cylinders to Assam, Meghalaya Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram have been impacted. If NEPLTA do not call of the strike by the end of this week, there might be a shortage of cylinders, said a IOC official.

Meanwhile Indian Oil has appealed to the agitators to call off their protest as it is ‘detrimental’ to the interests of the public.

It also urged the association to uphold national and state interest and avoid disruption of essential services in Assam.

It said Indian Oil is committed to addressing the concerns of all stakeholders and has invited NEPLTA to engage in cooperation and dialogue to resolve concerns, demands, and issues amicably to ensure the continuous supply of essentials.
