Police did a crackdown at the Manipur University premises late in the night yesterday where the site for the ongoing relay hunger strike was demolished.

The crackdown took place late in the night where a police convoy arrived at the spot and took down the makeshift tent under which the Manipur University Students Union and the Manipur University Teacher’s Union have been carrying on their relay hunger strike demanding for the removal of Vice Chancellor Adya Prasad Pandey.

Reports also state that a student has also been picked up by the police from the university during the crackdown. Reportedly the student was picked up by the police as he was there on the spot trying to take some photos with his smartphone during the police crackdown.
