Assam man rapes minor multiple times, arrested

The father lodged a complaint at Katigorah Police station following which the accused was arrested
A 47-year-old man has been arrested in Assam’s Cachar district for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl on multiple occasions.
The incident took place at Katigorah area in the district.
Police informed, as per the FIR, the accused is a neighbor.
According to the family members of the victim, the girl fell ill on Sunday, upon questioning the girl revealed her ordeal to the parents.
The father lodged a complaint at Katigorah Police station following which the accused was arrested.
The person has been arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and 376 AB (rape of a female under twelve years of age), police said.
