Assam: School girl narrowly escapes kidnapping bid in Cachar, 2 arrested

It was a narrow escape for a minor girl who was allegedly being kidnapped in Cachar district of Assam.

The incident has been reported on Thursday from Katigoda Chandinagar under Cachar district.
According to sources, a 12-year-old schoolgirl was being forcibly taken away in an auto rickshaw by two youth, while she was returning home from school.

When locals noticed that the youth were taking the victim to an isolated area, they stopped the vehicle and rescued her.

After receiving information about the incident, the Police acted swiftly to investigate the matter and arrested the driver and his associate. The arrested persons have been identified–Shahid Ahmed (18), and Shamim Uddin (17).

The victim’s father has also lodged a complaint at Katigoda Police Station.
