Manipur BJP MLA Paolienlal Haokip today said that his chief minister Biren Singh was in complicity with some radical elements

Manipur BJP MLA Paolienlal Haokip today said that his chief minister Biren Singh was “in complicity (sic) with some radical elements” and that Singh “seems to allow those very few radical elements to wreak havoc”.

Haokip has gone as far as demanding a change in leadership, his move being viewed as an open revolt against the chief minister.

“The chief minister should quit. If he does not, every legislator in his party has the moral responsibility to speak up against such kind of leadership that facilitates such human tragedy on the state,” he told Northeast Live.

Asked if his stand did not amount to a revolt against the party he responded by saying that “the party did not have its manifesto that a radical section of society be nurtured and let it cause this kind of havoc in the state”.

He clarified that his was not a stand against the party but the chief minister.
