The Motha founder urged in an audio message to his supporters to stay united and have faith in the demand for a constitutional solution
TIPRA Motha founder and leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Tuesday lashed out at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhary over his remark of Greater Tipraland demand.
The Motha founder urged in an audio message to his supporters to stay united and have faith in the demand for a constitutional solution.
“My message to Tiprasa (tribals) is that we have to give something to our children, our next generation irrespective of whatever people say. The tribals, the indigenous who are minority, their voices are throttled, no one gives priority to their thoughts and aspirations,” Pradyot said in an audio message.
“Everyone spoke a lot when it came to tribal rights but no one had stood up for tribal development in the real sense till now. “We may be a minority, but this state, the country and the Tipra kingdom was ours. It’s not only a matter of a family but of all Tiprasas (Tripuri tribals). If we talk about our rights now, we haven’t committed any sin,” TIPRA Motha founder said.
“When we are asking for our rights, we are not begging for alms from anyone. You (his supporters) should keep this in your mind. Our time will come as well,” he added.
“I believe that God will not be negative to us throughout our life. We have suffered much injustice. I believe if we take the right path and not betray our people, then one day the future of Tiprasa will rise,” he said.
Pradyot further added, “Even if the enemies have power, money and influence, we need to have hope and faith because life moves on with faith. Don’t get disheartened. I am with you.”
Pradyot’s reaction came after Jitendra Chaudhury claimed that Motha had failed to raise the issues enough and was joining hands with the BJP instead, in an oblique reference to the tribal party’s talks with the BJP-led central government over its statehood demand, an issue often criticised as the reason behind Motha’s purported soft approach to the saffron party.
