Will the Opposition ZPM overthrow the ruling MNF after the election? Although there are several predictions including that of hung assembly, the ZPM has firm belief that it will come to power after the poll results are announced on December 3.
ZPM chief and party’s CM candidate, Lalduhoma spoke to Northeast Live just before exercising his franchise and spoke in details about the mood of the voters as well his party’s prospects.
In an exclusive interview with Editor-in-Chief Wasbir Hussain, Lalduhoma who is contesting from the Serchip constituency said, “I am more confident than before. you know people are joining us till today. People from other parties are joining us till today. It has only increased hour by hour. That is the mood of our Mizoram. We are going to form the government alone”.
When asked that even the ruling MNF and the Congress are saying that they are confident of forming the government, Lalduhoma, the retired IPS officer and founder of ZPM said, “They (MNF, Cong) are confident… They are not confident at all in their hearts. People know that ZPM is going to form the government.”
The ZPM chief also ruled out any sort of ‘alliance’ with the Congress. Seriously unhappy over the comments made by the Congress leadership regarding a ‘proposed alliance’ with the ZPM, Lalduhoma said, “The Congress president recently made a statement saying that Congress is forming a coalition government with ZPM. There has never been any dialogue, any meeting any discussion with them. The only thing is that they are very sure that they are not going to win. People are fleeing out of them because Congress is like a sinking ship. So people are fleeing from them and joining us. Just to prevent and stop this exodus from their party, they keep saying that they are going to form a coalition government with ZPM, which is totally false.“
Asked if any party is untouchable for the ZPM, Lalduhoma said, “We are not going to form a government with any other political party, we are confident. There is no question of this or that, but the answer is simple. They are all the same. The main factor is that the main political parties, the MNF and Congress, they have been in power for such a long time in succession, we have had enough of them, we know what are their achievements. Corruption and nepotism is very rampant for which the CM himself is considered to be involved. He himself is destroying his party. People want to have a change, they want a corruption free government.”
