Ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati suspended for today

The decision was taken due to the unavailability of sufficient draught to ply the vessels from the existing ghat points at Guwahati side
Ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati has temporarily been suspended for today, informed the Inland Water Transport Department via an official notification.
The decision was taken in view of the unavailability of sufficient draught to ply the vessels from the existing ghat points at Guwahati side (South Bank) and to construct approach road and jetty, said the Inland Water Transport Department notification.
The decision could cause inconvenience to a lot of office goers and students living in North Guwahati who use the ferry service to reach their offices and colleges located in South Guwahati.
