In a tragic incident reported from Choto Miapara village at Mehendipathar in Meghalaya’s North Garo Hills district, at least 5 people were killed and 3 received grievous injuries when they came in contact with live electric cable at a time when they were engaged in a road construction work.

All those seriously injured have been shifted to Goalpara Civil Hospital and their condition is stated to be critical.

Reportedly, all those killed and injured were engaged in road construction work of a village road when they came in contact with a live cable that transmits 11 thousand volts electricity.
