Rangjuli and Dhanubhanga regions in the state’s Goalpara district are reeling under serious incidents of elephant raiding human settlements and causing damages to properties.
People are spending sleepless nights in several villages. On Tuesday night, a large herd of elephants raided the Soruwadol village in the Dhanubhanga region and destroyed several houses.
One family barely managed to escape the marauding jumbos. It is to be mentioned that several people have lost their lives in elephant menace this year.
