Manipur’s L Biten Singh and Hav Bishworjit Saikhom secures 2nd and 3rd position at Ironman 70.3 race in Goa

L Biten Singh secured the second position with a timing of 04:39:24, while, the third place was secured by Bishworjit Saikhom with a time of 04:42:13

Even as their home state, Manipur is burning for over 5 months now, the citizens of the violence-hit state continue to bring laurels and making the state and the nation as a whole proud, by excelling in a number of sports categories.

After, Wushu champion from the state, Roshibina Devi Naorem won a silver medal in the ongoing 19th Asian Games at Hangzhou in China, Army personnel from the state–L Biten Singh and Hav Bishworjit Saikhom have secured second and third position respectively in the men’s category at the Ironman 70.3 held in Goa on Sunday.

L Biten Singh secured the second position with a timing of 04:39:24, while, the third place was secured by Bishworjit Saikhom with a time of 04:42:13.

Andhra Pradesh based athlete Nihal Baig was the overall first place winner and led the men’s category with a timing of 04:32:05.

Congratulating L Biten Singh and Hav Bishworjit Saikhom on their achievement, Indian Army took to X and wrote, “Proud. Hav L Biten Singh and Hav Bishworjit Saikhom of #IndianArmy secured 2nd & 3rd positions in the 3rd edition of #IronMan 70.3 Goa. Also, in the overall Men’s Relay, The Bombay Sappers Pioneers and Warriors achieved 2nd & 3rd position respectively. This globally renowned gruelling triathlon comprises swimming followed by cycling & half marathon.”

Notably, the top 30 finishers have qualified to compete in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, scheduled to take place in New Zealand.
