Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been asked to appear before the ED on October 6
In a big update on the Mahadev betting app case, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been asked by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to come in for questioning. He’s been called to appear before the ED on October 6. This news comes just ahead of the release of his upcoming movie, “Animal,” which is scheduled for December 1.
Earlier, several Bollywood actors and singers like Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Asgar, Vishal Dadlani, and Elli AvrRam were mentioned in a report on September 16. They were expected to face questioning by the ED.
More actors and singers are likely to receive similar summonses, including Bharti Singh, Bhagyashree, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Krushna Abhishek, and Sukhwinder Singh.
All these actors and singers reportedly attended the wedding ceremony of Mahadev Book app promoter, Sourabh Chandrakar, in UAE, in February 2023.
The Mahadev Book app, an online betting platform, is currently being investigated by the ED and multiple state police departments.
According to digital evidence collected by the ED, approximately Rs 112 crore was transferred through hawala channels to an event management company. Additionally, payments amounting to Rs 42 crore for hotel bookings were reportedly made in cash.
An investigation is underway about the success party of the app, which was organised by Chandrakar and the app’s second promoter, Ravi Uppal, in September last year.
